A week is the right unit for a list
A daily list is too short a horizon: anything that does not fit today gets rewritten tomorrow, and the rewriting becomes the work. A monthly list is too long: nothing on it feels urgent until the last week.
A week is long enough to move things between days when something overruns and short enough that everything on it is real.
The brain dump at the bottom
Everything that is not assigned to a day goes there. Things you thought of mid-week, things belonging to next month, things you are not sure you will do at all.
The point is to get them out of your head without committing to them. A list that forces you to schedule every idea the moment you have it is a list you will stop adding to.
